Light Stick Incenses & Wood Sticks
Light a stick incense
You can choose to either hold one end of the stick incense, or place it on an incense burner to keep it steady and angled upwards.
Step 1
Light the other end of the stick incense with a match or lighter as you would a candle wick. Ensure that the incense is immersed in the flame until it ignites, and a small flame is visible
Step 2
Allow the flame to burn for a few seconds, then gently fan or blow out the flame
Step 3
Check the incense tip where the flame was. If you see a small glowing ember, and a small amount of smoke coming out of the tip, then the incense has been correctly lit. If you're unsure, leave the incense for a minute or so, then check to see if you can smell the scent and whether more ash has been created at the tip. If you do not see a glowing ember, and there are no smells or ash, you have completely extinguished the incense by accident, and will need to repeat steps 1-2 above.
Step 4
If you were using your hand to hold the stick, you can now place it into the incense holder. Be sure that the tip of the incense is within the boundary of the incense burner, so that any ash can be collected on the burner

Sit back and enjoy the smell of your burning incense stick
Burn a wood stick (Palo Santo & Sandalwood)
Step 1
Hold a piece of Palo Santo or wood stick slightly upside down and light the tip until there is a small flame.
Step 2
Blow out the flame after 1 minute. Let the palo santo stick burn for 30-60 seconds, depending on how strong of a scent you want. After 60 seconds, blow on the stick until you extinguish the flame and it only emits embers.
Step 3
Place it embers-down on an angle in a fireproof bowl so that the embers will get enough air to continue to burn and gently blow on the embers when needed. It may need to be re-lit several times, depending on how long you want it to burn.
Step 4
Place the bowl in a safe place, away from children, pets and any flammable items. Alternatively, you can “smudge” by carefully carrying the bowl to the different parts of your home or space, ensuring that the Palo Santo smoke reaches every nook and cranny, where it will purify the space and attract positive energy.
Step 5
Each stick can be reused several times until the stick disappears.
Now
Sit back and enjoy the smell of your burning wood stick
