The enchanting peony enjoyed enormous popularity in Edo. Its bewitching form is reminiscent of a beautiful geisha, and gazing upon a peony you can almost hear the music and see the dances of the geisha quarter. The fragrance of the peony, "queen of the flowers" evokes this beautiful and evanescent world.

Care Instructions

For Incense: Hold a live flame to the "end" of the incense until the incense itself catches on fire. Allow that flame to burn for a few seconds while the incense creates its own self fueling ember. Blow the flame out. Enjoy beautifully unfurling tendrils of rich sensuous scent wafts.


For Candle: Trim wick to 1/4" each time before lighting. Always place candles on a fireproof surface or in a holder. 

For Diffuser: Remove the rubber stopper carefully. Place 10-15 sticks inside the bottle to saturate with oil. The sticks will draw the oils and diffuse the fragrance into the room. Please allow 24–36 hours for the fragrance to diffuse.

  • As with all things flammable, we do want to remind you that you should take care in using incense. 
  • Please ensure that you do not leave the incense unattended.
  • Burn incense in a well ventilated room to avoid build up of the smoke. 
  • Keep lit and unlit incense away from children and pets.
  • Women who are pregnant should consult their doctor before burning incense.
